What About Hell?
Definition: A place of confinement for those not redeemed. (Saved through Jesus Christ by repentance).

Scripture: From the Standard Version.

Mt 10:28 And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Mr 9:43 And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed, rather than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire.
Mr 9:44 [where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.]
Lu 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that they that would pass from hence to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thence to us.
Re 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone:
Re 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Re 20:14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, [even] the lake of fire.
Re 20:15 And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of
fire.

Commentary: Mark 9:43-48,49 Jesus used startling language to stress the importance of cutting sin out of our lives. Painful discipline is required of His true followers. Giving up a relationship, job or habit that is against God's will may seem just as painful as cutting off a hand. The goal is worth the sacrifice. Jesus is worth any loss. Heaven and Eternity will be worth it all. We must be ruthless in removing sin from our lives now in order to avoid being stuck with them for eternity. Make your choices from an eternal Perspective. With these strange words, Jesus pictured the serious and eternal conseqquences of sin. To the Jews, worms and fire represented both internal and external Pain.
